What is induction technology?
Physics – Electricity – Magnetism – Maxwell’s Equations – Lenz’s Law
Alternating magnetic fields produce electric currents and voltages in conductors – similar to lightning in a thunderstorm. Induction appliances produce invisible magnetic force fields with the aid of generators, coils and appropriate control systems.
J. Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879) established the relationship between electrical charge and current density, and electrical/magnetic field strength.
H. Lenz (1804-1865) established the physical law governing the direction of an induced electric current. Lines of force as the forerunner of induction. A magnetic field that changes over time is surrounded by closed electrical field lines (Induction law).
